Hi guys,

Would like to remind you what you need to submit to me by the 3pm afternoon later:

-Written script of your concept area (Like what inspires you for this design)

-Perspective drawings (on Sketchup, Front, Side Elevation, Plan View, BEST Perspective also. REMEMBER TO ADD HUMANS!)

-Your sketchy versions of Sketchup files

-Interesting features you want to show to the audience (Remember it is still an individual presentation, so you would want to prepare your own site as much as possible.)

-Any other information you want me to compile together.

All must be handed up by 3pm, give or take 1 hour,(unless you got very good reasons) if I don't recieved it by then, you will have to do the presenation yourself because I cannot afford to wait for any more delays.

I should be awake by 1.30pm, if not, give me a call, handphone, house, etc.

Thank you.

Hi guys,

Apologies for the late updates, just reformated my comp.

Anyway: as stated and discuss about, this Monday we will be divided into 2 groups:

Jonathan's House
-Wen Wei
-Ming Jie
-Mark

Gao Zheng's House
-Nisa
-Ben
-Amalina
-Iqbal (Sunday Only)

This is to hope that everyone can try and do up as much of their site as possible, if in the event that by the end of that day anyone who is severely lacking behind the others,
Example:
(Person A lacking behind at around 30% or so from current progress of the others);
you would have to do the presentation yourself on the actual day, and your works will not be compiled with the rest.

This is to avoid sub-standard work from being produced and got away with it.

Things you need to bring:
-Laptop/Adaptors (for those who have it)
-Drawing plans (if you have any)
-Sketches (if you have any)

The last 2 are for you to refer to in the case you need to get some ideas.

As for what you need to submit for Mr Dhanen:
Design Development
-Drawings and sketches of your own area (Sketchup/Drawn)
-Concept of your ideas (IMPORTANT)
-Management Issue
-Sustainability
-Script (remember the one I asked for?)

This is for the presentation.

Detailed Development:
AutoCad File Consisting:
-Cover Page (Get it from Mr Dhanen Blog)
-Content Page(Get it from Mr Dhanen Blog)
-Key Plan (Singapore, Mt Faber)
-Location of your own Site
-Softscape Working Drawing complete with BQ
(Just the proposed things, not numbers of it)

-Hardscape Working Drawings:
AKA Detailed Drawings of something you selected.
Take note that you -only need to do 1 Detailed if it is special feature,
if not, you have to do 2.
More would be acceptable but bare minimum is 2.

All must be labelled as working drawings, because it’s NOT FINALISED.
Project Management:
-Bill of Quantity (Softscape, Maintenance)
-Individual Timeline (Project Format)

This is it for everything, if you still have any doubts, please ask me about it, I would be online on MSN on Sunday night, so just get me.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

As mentioned by Mr Dhanern in the Email, (Go check your NP Mail if you still haven checked your mail in aeons) He wants to have weekly crits, the first upcoming one is this Wednesday:

No Classes on 22nd July(Tuesday), 25th July(Friday) & 5th August (Tues)

1. Your attendance for 22nd, 25th & 5th will be marked based on individual crit with me on 23rd (Wed), 29th (Tues), & 1st (Fri) at HLM Design Studio . Please be informed that if you fail to meet me on any of these dates, your attendance will be counted as 0.

2. Please follow project guidelines_rev at earthdesigners.com; failure to comply will affect your marks.

3. The examples for hardscape & softscape working drawings, coverpage & drawing list is out at earthdesigners.com.

I have pasted the exact copy of his email over here, so you don't have to look at your mail.

There are still some confusions about some terms:
Hardscape:
Meaning your Autocad Planning Drawings, section elevation, etc. That's the basis he wants to see this coming Wednesday

Perspective:
As it says, the drawing which need you to visualize how it looks like, drawn/sketchup, will suffice.

Thanks.

I think we all have enough time to slack during the LD lesson already.

Some of you guys claim to have no time in doing your respective parts, so now:

Every Tuesday & Friday is to do your LD. It doesn't matters whether you do it on other days, so long you turn up on Tuesday and Friday and do your LD during the lesson itself.

So yes:
NO
-Laptop Usage (Online shopping and etc.)
-Sleeping
-Idling for long periods of time

Anyone caught doing that, will be dealt with severely. No questions asked.

We are really running out of time, this is the only time you can really be free and do your LD, unless you want to come back on Saturday to do it. Not to mention that SGF is coming soon and it's going to take quite a huge chunk of time out from the schedule.

If you don't cooperate, you are making it hard for yourself and the others.

Back to what to bring for each LD session:
-Drawing Stuffs
-Papers (A4)
-Your own perspective photographs

Besides, you can get the help you needed when we are around. 8 more brains are better than 1.

Thanks.

Hi guys, some work that you need to do and give it to me by this Friday:

-A written script for your area

I need this so as to do a video on it, EVERYONE's INVOLVED. No questions asked. What I need is about 10 - 15 seconds of talking, max about 20 seconds.

What you need to do is this:
-A intro of your area (Your intro of the area and where is it located)
-Design of the area (Like why you do a wavy design, for eg)
-Any interesting ideas that you can fit in.

Give it to me on Friday itself, so that I can review and get it quickly processed.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

Just an update, of what we have already done the 5th trip:
-Perspective Shots
-Measurements of Repsective Areas

As for those who cannot make it for the trip today, we have also done your site, so the pictures, you have to make do what we can take. Please get online around 8pm tomorrow so that we can send you your individual areas and you can do a selection for it. And also to send you the measurements.

Just in case YOU still didn't know, this is still going to be a group presentation in the end, so if you in some way, slacked off, you are literally pulling the others down with you too.

I would highly suggest you get hold of these programs and start learning how to use them if you don't want FYP, or other modules work piling up and suffocating you.

-AutoCad 2006 (Everyone should use 2006 version, it's the most stable AFAIK.)
-Google Sketchup (Pro or Non Pro also can, get from me if you don't have it.)
-Adobe Photoshop CS2/3 (Again, get from me if you don't have.)

Cos at the end of the day, you are required to submit to me for compilation of the following:

-Perspective Drawings, handdrawn/3D models
-Videos
-3D models (So I can render)

Alot of work I know, but let's give it all like what we did for Part 1.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

As talked about on Tuesday, here are the areas that each of us is designing:

Gao Zheng
-Information Center and Timber Decks

Jonathan
-Marang Trail Entrance

Amalina
-Trellis

Iqbal
-Ship Deck

Wen Wei
-Lifestyle Club

Nisa
-Refreshment Kiosk

Wen Xiang
-Tower 1

Ming Jie
-Board Walk

Mark
-Tower 2

Besides Mr Dhanern's weekly Crit for the progress, I would also like to do some checks also (weekly), especially for those who are designing areas that are near or next to each others, you have to do checks with you friend so as to balance the design.

Please start doing your designs now before it piles up.

Another thing to take note, in total, we need to pay Mark $24.05 each, please facilitate your money and pay to him ASAP. Latest is by Next Friday. Late payers will have to pay more. It's not very good that we owe him the money since he supplied it to us without a thought.

As for those who have lost touch of AutoCad, I would highly suggest you start refreshing them now or approach me or MJ to get the necessary drawings to practice on. Please do learn how to use at least basic Sketchup and attend Mr Dhanern's lecture about it.

Thanks.
